I personally think the new races should be on tyria

Dwarf, Half-charr (as mentioned above), Forgotten (again as mentioned above), Centaurs, and undead.

I think that for Kantha the races should be

half-wolves (a mix between humans and wolves), Halflings (just because it's kewlio((yup I said kewlio))), and fish/human things (again just because it's, you guessed it, kewlio!)

I don't actually care about clones so much. You'll never completely get away from that. But -- I'm a roleplayer. I want the chance to play other races and storylines, yes.

Whether Idiots Savant or Negative Zero care what I look like doesn't actually even cross my mind.. because I'm in a small close-knit guild that doesn't currently PvP and has no plans to do it exclusively. Maybe for fun.. but not as the point of our gaming. But I'll probably never encounter said guilds, so why the flip do I care?

Besides.. I'm sure if you could be a centaur or half-charr (GOOD idea!) some of their members would be anyway.

I agree, it would be cool. However, I dont think that it would be worth all the work to go through and make this an option. The storyline is for humans, so that would have to be modified. I like the idea, its just not practical.

There is nothing in the current story line that points your character out as human, Just that you are helping the variouse groups you encounter and even if it does, the story we have now shouldn't limit future story lines.

Actually, any arguments about the storyline are cowcrap. As somebody already pointed out, this is merely Chapter 1. Have u ever read a book where Chapter 2 was the exact same as chapter 1, only with different characters, or a different font (cosmetical crap u know)? NO! They will prolly implement dwarves (Im pretty sure cuz they are already in the game). Half-charrs are a GREAT idea. Women being captured and just... OUCH. I know why u said that cuz what kind of guy is crazy enough to boink a charr? I don't know what forgotten are (please dont say it cuz i still have to finish the story line), and half-wolfs sound nice too. Name of the expansion: colonies . that would be a nice indication for a story line, where the humans enter their ships, go to that other continent u guys talked about and find other creatures, who are nice to the humans.

Instead of more races, I would much rather see more professions and more pets. It would be cool to have a huge pet eagle like LOTR or something.

Not sure whjat profession they would come up with. They got all the basics with the current professions.

hahaha, a friend of mine tried the game, coming from a DnD background, he instantly disliked the game, as there is no true rogue class. He also stated that all the characters actually look like elves. If you use the skinny Pheno type that is soo true. So if you actually wanted you could already say there are actually 2 player races humans and elves in game.

I would much rather them add new professions rather than races. A race would be a mirror of the human with a different appearance. Why would you want this? How often when you're playing the game do you stop to look at what your character looks like? At least with new professions something NEW could be introduced to the game. I'm not saying there aren't enough professions or that the game is lacking, but I think that the more professions the better, because the game truly would be unique and not overpowered in one area (monks and warriors?)

Frequently. Aesthetics are important to some people.

I often stop in town to marvel at my handsome visage. I even buy armor more for looks than stats. Besides, we're not saying just add new races; I would like new classes too but thats not what this thread is about.

Im not sure about the centaur. I already think they walk stupidly, and especially in elevated terrain. in elevated terrain, they just stand there, bent over, attacking you. it really looks silly.

It wouldn't really be possible to be a centaur...as they hunt humans...because they declared war on humans. And if that sort of thing existed, then they would need to make an entire game centered on centaurs, which would result in a $40 xpac

To become a different race, etc., they could possibly make you do an "infuse character" type thing... like you do a quest to become undead (someone already mentioned that...)

They realy wouldn't implement the races now in a free update, it's realy something for an expansion pack. You could start out as your chosen race.

If they made centaurs... how would that work with the storyline? They'd have to just be for expansions.

I'd rather they made more choices when creating humans, that would be so much better. Change the width, muscle, heair length. You can't even change your character's eye colour yet. Also they need more FACES. Grr... to make a female monk you have to basically accept 50% of the being oriental. I'd like to be able to make a monk, ranger whatever.. look the way I want. I think improving the character developement is more important.
